The
Owner previously built a building on an adjoining lot to house the expansion
of a sheet metal-manufacturing company. It was assumed at the time this
project was designed and built, by Tony Rosas Associates and BLC, that
the manufacturing company would lease this building also. However, right
about the time the building was ready for tenancy, the economy slowed
drastically, and the Owner was faced with a building built for a tenant
whose business was no longer capable of handling the expansion. Due
to the flexibility of the building and design, BLC was able to work
with a number of smaller tenants and provide leased space tailored specifically
to the needs of their businesses. The Clydesdale Commerce Center was
third-prize winner of Garco Building System's Light Industrial Buildings
2000-2001.
"Nice interplay of building heights with strong sense of rhythm
between window and roof elements. Well-defined entries at each space.
Building is sited well and good color selections for exterior and roof
add to sense of permanence." Judges' Comments. Garco
